In an anticipation of UCONN’s increased presence in downtown Hartford, TSKP STUDIO designed two interior renovation programs in time to welcome well over 2,000 students this fall. One of these was the renovation of a 4-story, 36,000 sq. ft. brick commercial building to house the School of Social Work. The other entailed 17,000 sq.ft. on both lower and main levels of the Hartford Public Library to support faculty and students in all areas of study. Welcome Huskies!
In both buildings, the work entailed: a robust plan for technology (data and AV), new electrical, lighting, HVAC and fire protection systems; and new finishes and furnishings throughout. In addition to offices, classrooms, conference rooms, TSKP STUDIO designed break-out areas, small group study and reading areas, a state-of-the-art distance learning lab, Digital Scholarship Suite complete with Editing and Green Screen Production, and relocation of open and closed stacks.
