After more than three decades with the firm, Jeannette O’Connell, Director of Interiors, has retired from TSKP STUDIO.
Jeannette joined the studio, then known as Tai Soo Kim Partners, in 1990 and has played a significant role in shaping the firm’s interior architecture work ever since. Over the years, she contributed to a wide range of educational, civic, and institutional projects, bringing a consistent focus on clarity, usability, and long-term value.
As Director of Interiors, Jeannette was known for her disciplined, concept-driven approach to design. She emphasized the importance of establishing a clear framework early in a project and carrying it through all phases of design. This approach helped teams navigate complex decisions while maintaining cohesion across materials, details, and spatial organization.
Partner Whit Iglehart reflects, “Jeannette brought a dedication and perseverance to her work that was reflected in the both her follow-through on every detail of the interior design and in her responsiveness to client and user needs at every level.”
Her project experience includes work on the Cohen Eastern Greenwich Civic Center, Bloomfield’s Prosser Library, and the U.S. Embassy in Tunisia, among many others. In each case, her work reflected a careful balance between design intent, technical requirements, and client needs.
In addition to her project work, Jeannette was a valued mentor and collaborator within the office. She was generous with her knowledge and played an important role in supporting younger staff and interdisciplinary teams.
As she transitions into retirement, Jeannette looks forward to spending more time on personal interests, travel, and activities outside the studio. While she will no longer be involved in day-to-day work, her contributions will continue to influence the firm’s approach to interior architecture.
TSKP STUDIO thanks Jeannette for her many years of service and wishes her all the best in retirement.
