The future of architecture and engineering is in the hands of our students. TSKP’s Michael C. Scott takes pride in developing and guiding them into our industry. This summer, Michael collaborated with programs at the University of Hartford (UHart) and Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) that focused on Architecture, Engineering, and other STEM curriculums.
High school students from the UHart Architecture Summer Institute, which provides an “immersive experience in architecture and design,” were given a tour of our studio, had the opportunity to speak to our architects and designers, and were shown examples of our current and past work. Led by Michael and Jeffrey Clark, the students then experienced the design coming to life by touring the Farmington High School, currently in construction.
CCSU’s Summer Engineering Program focuses on science and engineering programs for local high school students. Engineers Ben KleineKracht and Josephine Wendroth from CMTA joined Michael to present information about Net Zero Energy and how they renovated Buckley Elementary School to achieve Net Zero. The group was then given a tour of the completed school, starting at the energy dashboard in the lobby and finishing with an up-close look at the mechanical systems of a geothermal system.
TSKP is proud to inspire the future of the A/E/C Industry and enjoys the enthusiasm the students bring. Thank you to the University of Hartford and Central Connecticut State University for leading the charge and offering students the opportunity to participate in such programs.
