The renovation at 82-90 Wall Street is complete. The project involved adaptively reusing a former pizza restaurant and commercial space into academic and administrative facilities for Yale University's Humanities Program. The building now includes seminar rooms, classrooms, meeting spaces, a student lounge, and an outdoor terrace. The exterior façade and masonry of the former 1880s row houses were restored and updated.
Working with the end-users, TSKP STUDIO and Yale simplified the level changes on the main floor and sequences of spaces to provide a clear circulation path within and through the building and optimize program adjacencies. The circulation through the campus and building speaks to Yale’s vision for the future of its campus community.
The Elizabethan Club at Yale, in appreciation of the Wall Street project team, invited the architects and constructors of the recently renovated 82-90 Wall Street building as special guests at their annual Fall Garden Party. The Wall Street project features a terrace wall that becomes the new decorative backdrop to the Club’s substantial and storied garden. The shared fellowship was revealing of the cooperation and patience indicative of good neighbors.
The Elizabethan Club of Yale University, founded in 1911, maintains a library and serves as a meeting place for conversation and discussion about literature and the arts.
