The Connecticut Architecture Foundation hosted its annual Distinguished Leadership Award Lecture & Dinner Fundraiser, and this year’s event was especially meaningful for TSKP STUDIO as we were thrilled and deeply honored to celebrate our founding partner, Tai Soo Kim, FAIA, as the recipient of the 2025 Distinguished Leadership Award.
Hosted at the Harry Jack Gray Center in West Hartford, the evening brought together colleagues, clients, students, and friends to recognize Tai Soo’s contributions to the architectural profession and to the broader community. From the earliest days of founding this firm in Hartford to the international influence of projects such as the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul and the U.S. Embassy in Tunis, Tai Soo’s career has exemplified design excellence, cultural sensitivity, and a lasting commitment to mentorship that have permeated the culture and design philosophy at TSKP STUDIO.
The highlight of the evening was Tai Soo’s lecture, where he reflected not only on his architectural journey but also on the power of design to foster human connection and dignity. His words reminded us all why we do this work—and how architecture, at its best, can serve as a bridge between people, cultures, and generations.
