Since its grand reopening, the Meriden Public Library has seen a 41% increase in attendance at programs. The library is located in the heart of downtown, within walking distance for many lower-income residents. The renovations focused on the high impact for patrons with a new children’s room, additional meeting and study rooms, an updated multipurpose room, a new media lab, and a dedicated teen room that features desktop computers, a full suite of video games, study areas and a collection of age-appropriate books.

The Meriden Public Library's commitment to excellence was recognized at the 29th Annual Blue Ribbon Awards Showcase presented by CREW CT, where it was awarded Best Specialty Project Adaptive Reuse.
