Today, also known as Seollal, is the day to wear bright colors, celebrate with family and friends, enjoy good food, and spend time outside. There is a tradition in Korea to watch the sunrise on the first day of the new year. The first sunrise of the Korean Peninsula can be seen from Ganjeolgot Cape, the easternmost part of the peninsula.
