Bloomfield’s McMahon Wintonbury Library is excited to announce the completion of its interior and building envelope renovation. The dedicated staff worked tirelessly to prepare the space for patrons, transforming it into a bright and welcoming community hub. While additional exterior work, including a new front canopy and a children's garden, will continue into the spring and summer months, the library is now open to the public.

Named in honor of P. Faith McMahon, a beloved teacher and the first female mayor of Bloomfield, the library embodies her warm and welcoming spirit. Faith McMahon was known for her dedication and hard work, qualities that the library strives to uphold in her memory.
Library Director Elizabeth Lane shared a touching story about Faith McMahon's impact: “Another library director reached out to tell me that her daughter was a student of Faith McMahon. Faith was a tall woman, and this library director's daughter, who was also tall, never felt comfortable in her skin. She was quiet and timid, and never really stood up straight. Faith, as her teacher, helped her gain the confidence to truly blossom. This library director felt it was important to share this story with me and my staff, as a testament to the kind of person Faith was.”
We invite everyone to visit the refreshed P. Faith McMahon Wintonbury Library and experience the welcoming atmosphere that continues Faith McMahon's legacy.
