For Trinity College, TSKP STUDIO created a new residential quadrangle, consisting of a new dormitory with social hall near an existing high rise and two low rise dorms. The new construction entailed a 7,500 SF social hall and 81-bed residence hall. The siting and massing of the 44,000 SF building define the new quadrangle, and creates a greater sense of community with the existing adjacent dormitories. TSKP STUDIO’s design introduces a welcoming raised terrace at the main entrance to the social hall, and a gateway to the quadrangle. The dormitory and social hall with stage, are connected only at the first floor to provide appropriate separation and security for the students in the new dormitory wing.
