Consisting of less than 2,000 SF, Tai Soo Kim's home demonstrates that a house need not be large to feel spacious. Through simplicity and practicality, he created an open and light-filled home with an energy conscious design. The upper level is basically one large room with glass exterior walls. A continous track of exterior sliding wooden panels serves a decorative as well as functional purpose by enabling the control of light and heat. The dining and living areas are divided by a custom designed wood burning stove. Adjacent to the kitchen is a courtyard, which is enclosed with sliding wood panels and provides additional space for outdoor dining.
