Concurrent with its comprehensive renovation/expansion program, the hospital engaged TSKP STUDIO to develop a plan for its lobby, which did not meet the standards of quality and care in practice throughout the rest of the institution.
The result is an uplifting 5,000 SF skylit space, lined with Ficcus trees, strongly resembling a conservatory. Our design extends the lobby toward the tree-lined arrival drive, allowing the greenery of the arrival to continue indoors. The interior features the careful choice of natural and simply detailed materials. Hospital administrators note that:
“The new lobby design makes the hospital more welcoming and is an architectural metaphor for the human warmth, compassion and willingness to help that is at the very core of what we do.”
