The Andrew Canzonetti building is a 77,00 SF addition to the John Dempsey Hospital at the UCONN Health Center. The addition encompasses several departments: outpatient surgery, neonatal, radiology, materials management, a new kitchen and cafeteria and involved 27,000 SF of renovation.
In addition to the technical challenges of renovating an operational health center, TSKP STUDIO's design responded to the distinctive architectural vocabulary and steep hilltop setting of the health center. The addition was designed to allow for vertical expansion and was phased to minimize disruption to the existing departments.
