TSKP STUDIO worked with The Blue Haus Group to reimagine a section of downtown that has been identified as instrumental in continuing the revitalization of Meriden’s transportation district. “Terminal Square” envisions transforming the historic Colony Street into a coveted destination for residents and tourists, highlighting the immediate proximity of the transit corridor. The design achieves goals such as developing a walkable area around the station and creating a public plaza, occupying one or more sides of the station. The design introduces retail and cafe streets leading to the station entrances, directing pedestrian flow to these areas by relocating the parking area. Overall, the proposal identifies this station as one of the linchpins to downtown Meriden, providing great opportunity and encouraging further thoughtful development of the area.
