TSKP STUDIO was responsible for programming, siting and designing this new 34,000 SF science facility. The Science Center is located on a prominent ridge of the campus overlooking the Thames River. Its exterior of precast concrete and natural stone blends harmoniously with other buildings on campus, yet its simplicity and symmetry allow it to stand alone as a landmark at the campus entrance. A specially designed roof top observatory, required a stand alone structure and the reduction of the transference of typical building vibrations from systems within the building. The program includes instructional and research labs in chemistry, biology, zoology, electronics, a research library, and offices, upgrading campus science facilities to 21st century standards.
