The school’s original Dining Hall dates back to a time before the school was built, and was inadequate both functionally and aesthetically. The new 10,000 SF structure is divided into two wings with a brick-floored street between. The south wing houses a lounge, restrooms, kitchen facilities, and serving area. The main dining area on the north side seats 200 in an environment acoustically attenuated by the articulation of mullioned glass walls and exposed wood roof structure. It can be partitioned to form a smaller common room for meetings, seminars, private dining, etc. An outdoor terrace can be used for receptions or to watch athletic games. Near the Tang Arts Center, the building is likewise inspired by the barn designs of the region. Scenic views highlight the New England scenery that makes this junior boarding school campus so attractive.
