TSKP STUDIO developed a plan for phased and comprehensive renovations to this 1905 era building. Phase I renovations were completed in the summer of 2010, gutting the first floor and basement making way for the new MEP infrastructure, and addressing ADA access and foundation moisture issues. The original building was designed as a geology museum and science building in 1905. An awkward renovation in the 1970’s closed in the original vaulted museum space and carved out a stepped lecture hall on the main level. The renovation removed much of these spaces to create a larger and more useful lobby and multi-purpose meeting room on the main level. The original vaulted ceiling on the fourth floor was restored, and new skylights installed in original locations to bring natural light into the building. The project is LEED Certified. Phase II work, completed in the summer of 2012 included building out the interiors and restoration aspects.
