This two level, 6,500 square foot house is located on a wooded 5-acre lot in a single family neighborhood. The house is sited in a sunken valley within the site, acting as a bridge between the north arrival drive and the South-facing outdoor terrace. The main entrance is at the upper level, bridged from driveway. This main level provides living room , dining room, eat-in kitchen, family room and master bedroom organized around a central atrium and enclosed courtyard. The organizing element of the design is a series of two-story high walls leading the eye to the terrace, which is surrounded by tall pines. The lower level provides a three-car garage, four additional bedrooms and a children’s play area. The house was designed for a family with young children and to feature the owners’ art collection.
