Mill River Park, Phase II
Client: City of Stamford
Completion Date: 2012

A public-private partnership is redeveloping an urban riverfront park in the heart of downtown Stamford. This next phase of the Park development is intended to add 3 new components (park pavilion, ice rink and fountain) into a park environment already under construction. These elements complete the vision of a central festival area suited to activities year round both day and night. The proposed pavilion is conceived and located with close proximity to the central rink/fountain feature providing both mechanical room for the water and ice features as well as visitor amenities such as warming hut for skaters, warm and cold weather snacks and drinks, and toilets. The concept for the pavilion is suggestive of a tree canopy providing shading and natural ventilation and employs net zero engineering.
