October 2011 – The TSKP design team has begun to document existing conditions on the site which will drive the development of the concept. You may remember that a preliminary plan was developed prior to local authorization allowing the Town to apply for a Connecticut School Construction Grant with the Connecticut Department of Education. The grant application also known as the ED049 was submitted this past June 2011. That document can be found under the Documents tab above. TSKP is basing its work on a refined version of the pre-referendum concept, focusing on improving site circulation for both the Stratford Academy and the new Honeyspot.

September 2011 – The Honeyspot House Joint Planning Committee (JPC) has been formed and has met with representatives of the TSKP design team. The Joint Planning Committee is a combination of representatives from the Town Building Needs Committee and the Board of Education (BoE) subcommittee. A list of members can be found under the Project Team tab above. Minutes of their monthly meetings can be found under the “Documents” tab above.

July 2011 – The Town Council has authorized town staff to move forward with the Honeyspot House contract for architectural and engineering services. Earlier this spring, the Honeyspot School Building Needs Committee conducted a procurement process for the design services contract and selected Tai Soo Kim Partners, Architects (TSKP). The firm and its team of engineers will begin work as soon as the contract with the Town has been executed.
