Jeannette O'Connell

Although born and raised in Massachusetts, Jeannette recalls the summers spent at a family boat house situated on pilings in a small bay off the Atlantic Inter-Coastal Waterway. The pilings which supported the boat houses above the tidal water gave her a first awareness of how certain structures worked in the natural and built environments.

Jeannette has studied at the Parson’s School of Design and the Rhode Island School of Design and has travelled extensively through Europe, Africa, China and North America. One travel design studio took her to Egypt for the planning of facilities for Brown University’s Department of Egyptology, and another to Italy focusing on retail design. For Jeannette, no matter where in the world we are, interior architecture is ultimately about the people occupying the space. When the merging relationship between architecture and interior design puts forth a concept that is uplifting and fully functioning for its occupants, then we have achieved the goal.
